Meadview
is a small community of about 1,500 residents, located near Lake Mead in northwest Arizona. Meadview was established in the 1960s are a retirement community. The elevation of the town is between 3100 and 3500 feet above sea level. Meadview is near dozens of attractions, including Lake Mead National Recreation Area. But, don't look for the lake from the town. In spite of its' name, the town is actually separated by a ridge from the lake, which is about ten miles away. Lake Mead provides swimming, boating and fishing. The best fishing on the lake is during the months of April, May and June - although you can fish anytime of the year. Another nearby attraction is the West Rim Grand Canyon Skywalk, which is just a short drive from Meadview. You won't want to miss this spectacular wonder if you're in the area. There are hiking spots near Meadview, but they are not designated, which means it's wise to take someone along who knows the area well, and/or let someone know where you are going. Willow Beach, which is just 11 miles below the Hoover Dam, is about an hour from Meadview. There, you can go boating and fishing amid gorgeous scenery of the Colorado River. Other daytrips convenient to Meadview include The Grand Canyon Caverns, Hualapai Mountain Park, and the 1900s gold mine boomtowns of Goldroad and Oatman. Goldroad is a ghost town on old U.S. Route 66.

The extreme northwest corner of Arizona, in the Lake Havasu region, has an arid desert climate. This region has some of the hottest summer daytime temperatures of any place in the United States. Summer highs generally range between 100 and 122 degrees F. At times, the temperature exceeds 125 degrees F. In winter, the highs range from 63 to 82 degrees F. Frost and snow are virtually unknown in this area. Temperatures do occasionally dip below 40 degrees F. in the winter, but it's not common. The mean annual precipitation is 3.28 inches. Most rain (which isn't much) occurs in December and January.

The closest airports in the area are the Kingman airport (IGM) located about 51 miles south of Meadview in Kingman, Arizona, the Henderson Executive airport (HND) located approximately 59 miles west of Meadview in Las Vegas, Nevada, the Mc Carran International airport (LAS) located roughly 60 miles west of Meadview in Las Vegas, Nevada, and finally the Laughlin Bullhead International airport (IFP) located around 64 miles southwest of Meadview in Bullhead City, Arizona.
