Queen-Valley
is a small community of approximately 800, located in the Greater Phoenix area. There are a lot of condos and vacation home rentals available in the Queen Valley area. The community is also home to an 18-hole golf course that provides spectacular views of the Superstition Mountains. Queen Valley is a great place to base your central Arizona vacation. For outdoor recreation, the surrounding desert and mountains provide opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, rock hunting. Lots of open space and parks offer opportunities to explore the flora and fauna of the desert. The Salt River and Verde River provide beautiful mountain-lake scenery and opportunities for boating, fishing, swimming and water skiing. There are also several dude ranches in the vicinity. Other things to do near the community of Queen Valley include visiting the Phoenix Desert Botanical Garden, the Phoenix Zoo, the Heard Museum and the Phoenix Art Museum. Nearby Phoenix has tons of shopping and award-winning restaurants that serve up favorite Southwestern dishes.

Queen Valley Weather & Climate

South-central Arizona has a subtropical desert climate. The area just east of Phoenix near the Superstitious Mountains, has hot, sunny summers and mild winters. Temperatures in the summer often exceed 100 degrees F., with a few days each year generally reaching 110 F. The higher altitude in the eastern portion of the wilderness area has slightly lower temperatures than the western portion. The elevation in this region is approximately 2,000 feet above sea level. Average annual rainfall is about 8 inches. Thunderstorms are possible anytime of the year, but occur most often during the monsoon from July to early September. Storms are also possible in winter and occasionally produce significant rain. Snow of any measurable accumulation is rare.
