Anthem
is a 3,800-acre master planned community located in Maricopa County, approximately 40 minutes from downtown Phoenix near Interstate 17 and Carefree Highway. Called "a hidden gem," Anthem includes a premier Country Club with two of the most beautiful desert golf courses in the region. The Persimmon and Ironwood Golf Courses are both private, but non-member play is available on a limited basis. The lavish course was designed with great attention to detail, including four separate putting and chipping greens. There are also over 20 other golf courses located within a 20-minute drive of Anthem. A 34,000 square foot clubhouse is part of the Anthem Country Club, with a health and fitness center, massage and steam rooms, and fine dining. The restaurant boasts some of the best cuisine and views in the Phoenix area. Within the community are parks, hiking and biking trails, lighted walking paths and a catch and release lake that's open to the public. Anthem is a quick thirty-minute drive to some of the West's best shopping in Scottsdale, and is about 90 miles to Sedona and a 3.5-hour drive to the Grand Canyon.

South-central Arizona has a subtropical desert climate with extremely hot summers and mild to warm winters. This region has some of the hottest summer daytime temperatures of any area in the United States. Highs top 110 degrees F. an average of 18 days during summer. On average, this part of the state is sunny 85 percent of the year, with an average annual rainfall total being 8.3 inches. March is the wettest month and June is the driest. Thunderstorms are possible anytime of the year, but occur most often during the monsoon from July to early September. Storms moving inland from the Pacific Ocean are possible in winter and occasionally produce significant rain. This region usually experiences only five days per year when the temperature drops to freezing. Snow of an accumulation of 0.1 inches or greater has occurred in central Arizona only eight times since 1898.
